ENCHICO INTER-HALL ATHLETES SPORTS COMPETITION

Enchi University College, ENCHICO, was the center of enchantments from, 5th to 6th February 2022 as it hosted another College Annual Inter-Hall sports competition.

About a total of 120 athletes participated which was used to select a team to represent the ENCHICO at the upcoming inter colleges sports competition, later in 2022 at the ENCHI UNIVERSITY COLLEGE OF EDUCATION, WESTERN REGION (ENCHI).

The Halls were ADDISON, NKRUMAH, COOKE and ANNOR ASEMA,

The day started with handball for both men and women, volleyball for men and women. Tennis ball and football was altered to the next day.

Speaking at the opening ceremony on Saturday, Mr. Philip Antaah, Principal of the college, said this year's games would help prepare the school's athletes for upcoming inter-college sports competitions which will be hosted by Enchico next year.

He urged students to give up their best as they target to lift high the name of the college through sports.

He was hopeful that, next year's competition would be bigger as it would be organized on a larger scale.

Mr. Joseph Parker, Dean of Students, urged the students to compete in the spirit of sportsmanship in showcasing their talents as it will propel them to greater heights in their respective endeavors.

“This is an opportunity to showcase your talents especially for athletes who wish to do sports at the highest level and must be approached with all seriousness," he stated.

Defending Champions, Nkrumah hall began their defense very well as they target to maintain the bragging rights but the other halls targeted to put out a very stern competition to unseat the champions.

At the end of the competition, Nkrumah hall, the founders emerge as overall winner's they went out with five trophies comprising champions in handball, both men and women, volleyball, men, netball, women, and overall winners.

Then followed by Cooke hall and also went out with two trophies constituting, Champions in a tennis ball, men and football, men.

Annor Asema also went out with three trophies comprising champions in table tennis, women, volleyball, women, and football, women.

Another historical event that happened was Addison hall the pacesetters, went out from the competition without a trophy in history in this competition.

The Professional student teachers of ENCHI UNIVERSITY COLLEGE OF EDUCATION and well-being has won the WESTERN ZONAL Inter-universities colleges of education quiz competition organized by the Western regional training Teachers Association. The contest was the preliminary stage of the Annual inter- colleges quiz competition which is organized by the Mother Association ( PRINNCOF ) for all UNIVERSITY COLLEGE OF EDUCATION across the Country. Covid is here and has come to stay. In order to fit into the system where personal hygiene as well as all protocols are concerned, a Student of Enchi College Of Education had made a shocking move to turn the old mess down. As a craft of his, Nkrumah Acheampong Ernest took to himself to use his God given talent to help his college in curbing and controlling sanitation on campus. He move to the backward of the campus to find himself a number of raffia (palm tree) to make a basket. The shocking news is that most of the students shared words of praises to him and also served as immediate scene for some students who had never witnessed how local baskets are made.
