ENCHICO INTER-HALL ATHLETES SPORTS COMPETITION

Enchi University College, ENCHICO,  was the centre of attraction on , 12th to 13th December , 2019 as it hosted the College Annual Inter-Hall Athlete's sports competition.
About total of 150 athletes comprising 80 females and 70 males from all four Halls of the COLLEGE  participated in the event that was used to select a team to represent  the ENCHICO at the upcoming inter colleges sports competition, later in 2020 at the ENCHI UNIVERSITY COLLEGE OF EDUCATION , WESTERN REGION (ENCHI). 


The Halls are ADDISON, NKRUMAH, COOKE and ANNOR ASEMA,
The day started with the 100/110m hurdle heats for both men and women, high jump for men and the 100m heat for men and women.
Speaking at the opening ceremony on Thursday, Mr. Philip Antaah,  Principal  of the college ,  said this year's games would help prepare the schools athletes for upcoming inter-colleges sport competition which will hosted by Enchico in next year.
He urged students to give up their best as they target to lift high the name of the college through sports.
He was hopeful that, next year's competition would be bigger as it would be organized on a larger scale.
Mr. Joseph Parker, Dean of Students, urged the students to compete in the spirit of sportsmanship in showcasing their talents as it will propel them to greater heights in their respective endeavours.
“This is an opportunity to showcase your talents especially for athletes who wish to do sports at the highest level and must be approached with all seriousness," he stated.




Defending Champions, Annor Asema begun their defence very well as they target to maintain the bragging rights but the other halls are putting out a very stern competition to unseat the champions.
At the end of the competition, Nkrumah hall, the founders emerge as a winner's, Addison hall, the pacesetters, took over the second position, followed by Cooke hall and Annor Asema the defending champions were the last. Ten point were deducted from Addison for fixing a third year student into the competition 
The participants who emerge from first to third position were awarded with Certificates and other souvenirs. one historical event happened was, when Gabriel Jumpah (Gaby) break a record to become first javelin athlete with a personal best of 41.44m, since 2006.

Asafo Market In the Ashanti Region Is On Fire.

47 mins ago The Asafo Market in the Ashanti regional capital, Kumasi, went up in flame for the second time within 24 hours, ravaging properties running into thousands of cedis. Over 200 shops have been burnt into ashes in the second inferno that hit the market on Easter Sunday. WE CAN'T ADMIT FRESH STUDENT THIS YEAR- E.P COLLEGE SAYS

The E. P. College of Education, Amedzofe, established in 1946, cannot admit fresh students this academic year if the infrastructure on the campus is not immediately expanded. “This is due to the four-year Bachelor of Education Programme which was introduced last academic year,” Dr Dickson Tsey explained. Enchi University College, ENCHICO,  was the center of enchantments from, 5th to 6th February 2022 as it hosted another College Annual Inter-Hall sports competition. About a total of 120 athletes participated which was used to select a team to represent the ENCHICO at the upcoming inter colleges sports competition, later in 2022 at the ENCHI UNIVERSITY COLLEGE OF EDUCATION, WESTERN REGION (ENCHI).  The Halls were ADDISON, NKRUMAH, COOKE and ANNOR ASEMA, The day started with handball for both men and women, volleyball for men and women. Meet the Trainee teacher who uses his leisure time to weave local made basketry

Covid is here and has come to stay. In order to fit into the system where personal hygiene as well as all protocols are concerned, a Student of Enchi College Of Education had made a shocking move to turn the old mess down. As a craft of his, Nkrumah Acheampong Ernest took to himself to use his God given talent to help his college in curbing and controlling sanitation on campus.  He move to the backward of the campus to find himself a number of raffia (palm tree) to make a basket. The shocking news is that most of the students shared words of praises to him and also served as immediate scene for some students who had never witnessed how local baskets are made.   The 27 year old students of Enchico is from Edweso in the Asante Region of Ghana.  Seedy Wan as most known on campus promised to use the weekends to craft more of the baskets so he may share to the various halls on campus!
